Tell us a little about yourself.
“Hi – I’m Gary and I own Fishi Business. It’s a family-run business and I get to work every day with my lovey wife Yen. I have been working in the industry for over 40 years and we have three sons that are also learning the trade. I hope that one day, they can take over the family business once I retire.”
How long have you been at Greensborough Plaza?
“I’ve enjoyed serving customers at Greensborough Plaza for 11 years and while we get excellent feedback, we’re always open to suggestions. I believe that word-of-mouth has played a big part in the success of Fishi Business so it’s integral that we listen and continue to evolve based on customers’ needs.”
What do you like about Greensborough?
“We don’t just serve the Greensborough community, but we have customers coming in multiple times during the week from a wide area like Doncaster, Kew, Coburg, and Ivanhoe! All our cliental are excellent as they are friendly, appreciative, and always keep coming back.”
What makes Fishi Business different?
“Where do I start? The store is fully stocked every day to ensure customers get what they came for. This includes having enough stock for large orders and of course busy periods like Easter and Christmas.
We particularly take pride in our presentation, cleanliness, and attention to detail. We only source local quality products from Australia and New Zealand, our oysters are opened daily in store to ensure they are always fresh, and every fillet is carefully deboned so our customers only get the best experience.
We also stock all the extras that you might not find in other fish retailers like breadcrumbs, sauces, smoked fish, and caviar so it’s really a one-stop-shop for everything you need.”
What’s your favourite product in-store?
“Everything! Nothing beats fresh seafood, and we stock all of it including crabs, yabbies, crayfish, salmon, flake, snapper, scallops, prawns, squid tubes, octopus, various fresh fillets, and more. We’re also happy to provide tips and tricks on how to prepare and cook all their products so ask at the counter if you’re unsure!”
